with releases to his credit on labels such as warp records, rephlex, planet-mu and ninja tune, its fair to say that luke vibert knows a thing or two about electronic music. now he returns to lo recordings for the third installment of his acclaimed nuggets series, this time delving into the archive of the bruton music library to unearth some of the production music studios choice moments.

experimenting with analog synthesizers and obscure percussion instruments helped kyson create the melancholic atmosphere of >the waters way<, the title of his new lp and first with friends of friends music a reflection of his time living in the long and harsh european winter. the new kyson live show, debuting this fall, is energetic as well as intricate. the three-piece setup incorporates live drums, analog synthesizers, vocals and samplers. accompanied by scott van manen (drums, samplers) and sam rogers (keys, vocals).

decoy07 takes a deeper turn with the third act ep. miss sunshine (kms, monocline, tictactoe) has been working flawlessly in the studio for the past six years and this ep is no exception. third act is a heavy workout of riding bells and an old-school synth line which grooves its way through percussion builds and changes. intimidate is deeper and darker with a chugging groove and twisting effects growing into a more graceful melody. ground loop captures miss sunshines more ambivalent mood with a haunting groove that is perfect for those basement techno moments. markus suckut (figure, sckt)supplies the remix with his interpretation of ground loop, taking it more minimal and stripped back but maintaining the groove in his own familiar style.

the last 12 inch in the invisible sunrise remix series and to say they have saved the best until last would be unfair on all the other amazing remixes but this really is a doozy. quiet village do what they do best - an exceedingly epic 13 minute tropical jungle chugger that transcends time and space to take you on a trip you are never going to forget. without a doubt one of the best things we have heard from qv in quite some time. on the flip the advisory circle provide what is perhaps the most beautiful remix - melodic, inventive and deeply lush. an anthemic come down for those moments when you need a big audio hug. simply gorgeous. lastly seahawks leave us with an unreleased mix of crystal beach which sounds like george benson tripping his nuts off on a beach in hawaii at 5am….languid jazz guitar, slo mo beats, the sound of the waves and some deep electronics ... what more could you want? seahawks at their finest and one more reason this is an essential purchase. swim on forever.

the world bringing 3 new emerging acts to the label, the summer sampler sets the tone of the future sound of colourful. hot and keen yet musical, the selection captivates different moments of the club night as imagined in the head of tobias linden. from the gorgeous builder that is flipside to the thick rolling anima onto the peak time percussive arcadia, closing with the piano laden tell the world - this is a ride well worth catching.

kenneth anger may not necessarily be the name that will come to mind when listening for the first time - distracted, confused, disoriented - to puce moments debut album. yet it is the only one that will seem relevant upon second listen -narcotic, infernal, fascinating. puce moment does not only borrow a title (of his eighth short film, made in 1949) from the baron noir of experi?mental cinema . ghostly wanderings, satanic masses, mystical romances, mechanical hell: eve?rything in the duo from lille (france) and their album in form of an invocation to ancient sybarites authorities refers to the californian filmmakers obsessions.

nick lapiens debut release as metropolis garnered little attention when it materialized last year. a skeptical yet dedicated network of underground heads built up a subterranean buzz that has yet to spread into the daylight. that initial transmission was thick with the raw analogue flavors that have become ever-present in dance floor fare recently—but his is a sound that is dedicated to the emotive, narrative aspects of electronic music rather than simple fetishization or passing curiosity in the days of yore. this, his second release as metropolis, shows a more focused and patient hand at work. the titular track on the a side is a deep, psychedelic groover. melodies, textures and sequences undulate and intertwine within a lightless atmosphere guided by lapien with optimum restraint. equally pensive and gorgeous, the flood serves as a machine’s beat-less foil on the reverse. made up of little more than feedback and two slow, echo laden arpeggiated sequences, this is reminiscent of jean michel jarre’s more sinister moments: a brilliant paradox of economy and indulgence. expect to hear more from lapien here at sequencias. he has many more dark corners left unexplored.

max essa returns to is it balearic..? home to some of his more balearic moments most notably the epic panorama suite. the a side is dovodah! which begins with some nu-med atmospheres and acoustic guitar conjuring up 80s italian beach parties. the loose percussion and a heartfelt vocal (calling the unmistakable sound of dovodah!) carry you along before dropping into an early 90s italian progressive vibe. genuinely a real post sunset bomb.

ryan elliott presents his second 12 inch ep for ostgut ton. his groovy us-sound is still present in these new productions and the stepmode ep builds a bridge between euphoria and darkish club moments.

2013 edition in bonbon marbled unique ltd re-press. one day in 2008, two close friends were sitting together, probably they were working at the studio to finish some tracks. and while they talked about music, they came across this song again and again. perhaps its tanitas voice, perhaps the melody attended by that doleful bassoon pipe. anyway, it is just one of those musical moments from the late eighties that have remained in thought since childhood.

with mgf022 we open the sound-universe with and for ilia ferrein from novosibirsk, russia. with meeting sea & hover, ferrein creates a perfect, clear, dreamy and reduced as well as an euphoric dubsound atmoshpere, with little moments full of magic melodies. the proper counterpart and highlight remix on the b-site is presented by doyen robag wruhme. there is no further introduction needed, we think...his remix of meeting sea includes his typically energetic, nearly hypnotic sound and it grooves as always keeping the focus on the original track at the same time.
